Marisa Torres da Silva is an assistant professor at Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, NOVA University of Lisbon, Portugal (FCSH/NOVA). Her post-doctoral research (2012-2015) – “Internet and deliberative democracy: audience participation in the online version of mainstream media” – aimed to examine newsroom management of online news comments, as well as readers’ discourse and expression in this particular forum.
