PhD in Media, Communication and Public Sphere at the University of Siena, 2008, is a Lecturer in Media Studies at IULM University of Milan. He has published extensively on radio and new media and co-edited the volume Radio Audiences and Participation in the Age of Network Society (ECREA Series, Routledge, 2015). His current research interests are the intersection between radio, Internet and social media; digital ethnography; public service media; production and journalism studies; freelance work in creative industries; digital free labour issues. He has done research for the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) on public radio and social media. Since 2005 he has also worked as a freelance radio producer for community, national commercial and public radio (Radio Popolare, Rai Radio2, Radio Svizzera Italiana, Radio24 Il Sole 24 Ore).
