Dr Merja Myllylahti is Senior Lecturer at the AUT School of Communication Studies. She is also Co-Director at the AUT research centre for Journalism, Media and Democracy (JMAD). Her research interests are in media business models, platforms, digital journalism and trust in news. Her recent book "From Paper to Platform: How tech giants are redefining news and democracy" investigates the risks platforms pose for media, journalism and society.
