Damian Radcliffe is the Carolyn S. Chambers Professor in Journalism and a Professor of Practice at the University of Oregon. He has produced an annual report on social media in the Middle East since 2012 and has written a monthly column on technology in the region for ZDNet since 2013. Alongside holding the Chambers Chair, Damian is also a Fellow of the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University, an Honorary Research Fellow at Cardiff University’s School of Journalism, Media and Culture Studies, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA). He tweets @damianradcliffe | Payton Bruni is a student at the University of Oregon, School of Journalism and Communication, majoring in journalism with a minor in Arabic studies. He aims to work in the Middle East as a journalist after he has graduated.
Payton is a freelance journalist and content developer for Gather - an online resource for engaged journalists - and is also a member of the UNESCO Crossings Institute for Conflict-Sensitive Reporting and Intercultural Dialogue at the University of Oregon. He also works as a photojournalist for Ethos Magazine and as a freelance sports photographer for KVAL CBS 13.
