This research was conducted by the research group Every Picture Tells a Story related to the research group Crossmedia Journalism at the Applied University of Utrecht in the Netherlands [http://www.journalismlab.nl/] .
This two-year research project funded by Nationaal Regieorgaan Praktijkgericht Onderzoek SIA, the largest Dutch funder for applied research, was conducted in close collaboration with news organizations, a number of infographic makers and the Association of Dutch Design (BNO). Currently Gerard Smit , Yael de Haan and Renée van der Nat are working on research concerning how news consumers evaluate news visualizations.
