Roman Hájek is the EJO web editor in Czech Republic. He is a PhD student of media studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague. His main focus area is local political communication, but he is also interested in alternative media, issues of citizenship, transformation of journalism and other related issues. He has worked as a local journalist for several years. Since 2012 he has been leading a small civic organization to promote his native city Kladno.
