Clemens Bomsdorf has lived in Northern Europe since 2001. He studied political sciences and economics at the University of Cologne and graduated from the School of Journalism there. He received a Masters degree from Handelshögskolan i Stockholm / Stockholm School of Economics in 2004. He reported from Iceland for two months in early 2002. Since 2004 he has been a foreign correspondent, covering the Nordic countries for media such as Financial Times Deutschland, Die Welt and The Art Newspaper. He was a full-time correspondent for The Wall Street Journal from 2012-2014. He now contributes to German weekly Focus and several special interest publications as deutsche bauzeitung and "IP Internationale Politik“. He is board member of the foreign correspondents association Weltreporter. In 2015 he was honoured with the Norwegian-German Willy-Brandt award.
