Gábor Polyák
Dr Gábor Polyák is an associate professor at the Institute for Communication and Media Studies of the University of Pécs. He is also head of research at Mertek Media Monitor, a Hungarian NGO dealing with media policy issues. He was previously a research fellow at the University of Münster, Institute for Information, Telecommunication and Media Law (2014-2016) and associate professor at the University of Pécs, Institute for Information and Communication Law (2001 to 2014). His educational background includes law and media studies at the University of Pécs, a master of laws degree in ICT law at the University of Vienna, PhD degree and habilitation at the University of Pécs. He teaches and carries out research in the fields of media regulation, IT law, media policy, and also teaches media literacy for media teachers. His most recent books are: Medienfreiheit unter Druck: Medienregulierung und Medienpolitik in Ungarn (co-edited with Prof. Bernd Holznagel), B&S Siebenhaar Verlag, 2016; and Médiaszabályozás, médiapolitika.
