An alliance of news organizations unite for accuracy.
The Report an Error Alliance, formed by Scott Rosenberg of MediaBugs and Craig Silverman of Regret the Error, is designed to improve accuracy in news coverage by giving readers the option to report errors they’ve discovered online. “The Web offers an incredible chance to enhance journalism standards,” writes Federica Cherubini of editorsweblog.org. “Not only can journalists apply (or should apply) the same standards of traditional media, but also the readers can contribute to publicizing the content, reporting the errors and, eventually, to defining new quality standards.”
