Marcello Foa
Marcello Foa is co-founder of the European Journalism Observatory and responsible for the Italian language EJO website. Well known as a journalist in both Italy and Switzerland, Foa is CEO of both MediaTI, a Swiss publishing group based in Lugano, and the daily newspaper Corriere del Ticino. From 1989 to 2011, Marcello worked as the foreign editor and columnist for the Italian newspaper Il Giornale, and as editor in chief of ilgiornale.it. In 2004 he began a career in academia at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), Lugano, and at the Università Cattolica, Milano – lecturing on both international journalism and spin doctoring. At the Università della Svizzera italiana, he has authored several books, among them Gli Stregoni della Notizia (The Wizards of Information), Guerini e Associati, 2006, the historical novel Il Ragazzo del Lago (The Boy by the Lake), Piemme, 2010 and the novel Il bambino invisibile (The Invisible Boy), Piemme, 2012.
