Journalism Textbook

Seeking to fill a niche, this book introduces journalism from a practitioner’s perspective, adding to and reflecting on the most relevant research in the field. It provides analysis of the dramatic changes to the news industry and demonstrates how multimedia, the Internet and Intranet have revolutionized journalists’ daily work while maintaining that new media doesn’t necessarily require that journalistic principles be completely reinvented. Newsroom marketing and newsroom management are explored, as is the complex relationship between journalism and public relations.

Like an American textbook, the volume is highly readable and contains many illustrations. It should be mandatory reading for anyone who aims to become a journalist, from newsroom interns to students of journalism schools, although the tips and insight contained within may even be of value to experienced professionals.

*The textbook has also been published in Czech, Polish, Serbo-Croatian and Latvian languages, while Italian and Albanian versions are being prepared.
